Corry/Warren Pennsylvania area, as this is the area
our family was during this era.
His parents were Washington F. Trisket and Catherine
(Portman) Trisket.
Willard M. Trisket was enrolled Feb. 24th. 1862, at
Erie, Pa for 3 years as a Private In Company L. 12th.
Pennsylvania Cavalry.
Willard was captured in Winchester Virginia June 15, 1863 and was
a POW.

William Triskett, a private of Company L 12th.
Regiment Penna Cavalry Volunteers, was enrolled on
the 24th day of February, 1862, at Erie, Pa. for 3
years, and is reported: on Muster rolls of company
from enrollment to April 10. 1863.
(Special Muster) - present. Feb 28/63 to Aug 31/63 -
(6 Mos. Muster) - Absent, Taken prisoner at
Winchester June 15, 1863. At which date + place Co.
was in action.
Sept. + Oct. 1863 present. Nov. +
Dec. 1863 absent on picket. Subsequent rolls to June
20, 1865 present. Mustered out roll of company dated
July 20, 1865 reports him a corpral, Mustered out
with Co. that date at Winchester Va.
He re enlisted as a vet. vol. Feb. 29.
1864.
"Prisoner of War Records show him captured at
Winchester, Va, June 15, 63, Confined at Richmond, Va,
June 23, 1863.
Paroled at City Point, Va, July 19, 1863.
Reported at College Grun Bk's, Md. July 20, 1863. sent
to Camp Parole, Md. July 25. 1863, where he arrived
the same day. sent to Camp Depot Washington D.C. Sept.
24, 1863. The records of this office furnishes no
further evidence of disability"
"Regt. Hospl. Records show: - A. Tresket Co. L July
25, 1864, Gun shot right side shell brought with
ambulance train from Martinsburg, Va.; Feb 5, 1865 shows
him with Co.
On a personal note:
Willard's wife was Anna Barnes.
His son was Clarence Henry Trisket.
Willard's death was due to diabetes.
Willard is buried in Perry Twp., Lake County, Ohio.
Willard's brother Charles Porter Trisket was in the 145th. Penna. Vol. Infantry
Charles was shot in the hip and face while fighting in the Wheat Fields
of Gettysburg.
Charles died 16 days later in a hospital made from a house.
Initially buried in Schwartz's Corn field, relocated to the Pennsylvania
section of the Gettysburg National Cemetery.
